We demonstrate experimentally that the frequency resolved optical switching (FROSt) method is independent of polarization direction pulse to be characterized. In this perspective, it employed characterize two or three co-propagating pulses linearly polarized in orthogonal directions, enabling retrieve simultaneously their temporal intensity and phase profiles together with group delay. This technique also applied track a simple nonlinear process involving different states: type-I second harmonic generation (SHG). are able depleted fundamental along generated second-harmonic pulse, thus demonstrating FROSt practical powerful tool observe processes both spectral domains even if involves states.
